You are not going to believe this but the last time I made those blonde brownies, they disappeared without frosting! LOL Good thing I was able to freeze 2 of them to “test” and they freeze and thaw well. Perfect even! I was so excited.
Since the family and I loved them so much, I set about to making more — this time WITH frosting.
Here is the frosting we chose: Enjoy!
Browned NO-butter frosting
1 stick or 1/2 cup of butter* (non dairy, non casein, vegan margarine)
4 cups powdered sugar
2 Tablespoons Milk* (non dairy, non casein, milk substitute…I used vanilla soy)
1 teas. vanilla
heat margarine in a saucepan over low heat until it turns a delicate brown…the margarine doesn’t really turn brown, but when it begins to crackle, remove from heat.
Slowly and gradually add the powdered sugar a little at a time and the Milk and vanilla. Mix in between each addition of powdered sugar until it is nice spreadable frosting consistency. You may need to adjust your powdered sugar or milk to achieve spreadability.
